Happiness and Antidepressants

Does the road to happiness needs a shortcut when people can’t control their mood states? Sometimes people have to realize that there is a difference between being happy and felling happy. That’s how some people can do something about their situations and thinks what’s best for them, but when they lose control of their emotions and this is when most of the time pharmaceuticals play an important role in some people’s life. And sometimes it can become a state of mind. Depression leads to the use of pharmaceuticals, it causes the person fall into chemicals to calm their feelings. The people who suffer this issue should be aware of the problem that this causes, the ways they could solve the problem, what role do the doctors play, also what happens in other cultures when this problem seems to affect the environment of people who suffer depression. Knowing before you act is what can make you use a prescription or to look for a solution on your own
Depression is a mental disorder which is cause by felling sad or thoughts of not achieving. And when this feeling grows bigger and affects the mind, then the person sinks in a state of mind which causes him/her to lose control of what to think about their own life. Depression could happen to anyone, from children to adults. Most of the time people get depressed when they are going through emotionally hard times such as, break ups, the deaths of relatives or the feeling of not getting what you would like to get. Sometimes depression is not cause by this problem, sometimes is part of you genes, some people inherit these issues. And they are more prone to suffer from this illness. Depression in small quantities could be just the feeling of failure on achieving something you set your goals on to it and it can be solve by just distracting your mind. Doing activities that involve the person doing something that increases their desires of success, there is no reason for this people to use antidepressant due that they can manage their feelings by other methods. Meanwhile people who suffer extreme cases of depression usually are hard to distract, they tend to have strong feelings of failure and desires of ending their lives, their emotions are hard to control, and sometimes hard to understand, and they need an extra help to their problem that is when antidepressants have to play a role in their lives. The chemicals that control their mood changes need an extra help from these pills.
In the U.S the use of antidepressants is very common. Sometimes it is easier to prescribe a pill than finding other solutions to the issue. In some other cultures depression is an issue in which the whole families have to take part, where the farthest relative lives a neighborhood away. In this cultures it’s easier to share time with the people who have depression they tend to help them overcoming depression, families are close and share a stronger bond and usually they ignore the problem is called depression and give the support unconditionally in ways that are possible to their reaches. They ignore the use of antidepressants because they have only time to think about celebrations and parties or just because they ignore the uses of these pills. To the contrary in the U.S where the closest relative lives states away from the person, everyone is use to live on their own in a big city by themselves when there is no time for celebrations if it is not a big holyday. Most people have to resort to antidepressants to solve their problem.

  1. Well written, as usual. A few things really that I noticed:

1- You should almost never abbreviate in an essay or report, so U.S. should always be written our as United States.

2- Just as with abbreviations, contractions do not belong in professional work. Words such as "can't" and "don't" need to be written out.

3- I would suggest more reference points to what countries and celebrations you refer to in contrast to American society, as it provides a more vivid picture of what you want to convey to your reader.
